Make a Wish

I'm back again with another card for the festivities at Papertrey.  I decided to try my hand at another color combo and sketch challenge.  I took some creative license with the sketch:)

Here are the color combo and sketch I combined:

I had these two Kraft "rings" sitting on my desk as scraps from my father's birthday card here, so I decided to use those as the top half-circle piece of the sketch.  I layered them over some guidelines card stock that I chose for the base.  The candles were cut out of Kraft paper as well so the ink colors are not as vibrant.  I added touches of gold glitter pen to everything to make it sparkle and shine.

The photo doesn't really do it justice.  It really looks better in real life.

Well it's back to work tomorrow so we'll see if I can squeeze in any more crafty fun this week.

Blessings,

Monthly Moments Trading Cards -- Masculine

Papertrey is introducing a new line called Monthly Moments for scrapbooking products.  Our challenge was to create a 3x4 trading card that could be used in a pocket page or placed onto a card.  I decided to make one feminine (see previous post) and one masculine scripture card.

For the masculine card I used a thin piece of balsa wood and stamped a tree image for the background.  The little scroll images in each corner are from the long forgotten set called Boxes, Bags and Tags.  I then used a thin black pen to draw the lines.  The sides look messy because of the way the ink soaked into the woodgrain.

Monthly Moments Trading Cards -- Feminine

I have two little 3x4 cards to share with you today (see next post for masculine card).  Papertrey is introducing a new line called Monthly Moments for scrapbooking products.  Our challenge was to create a 3x4 trading card that could be used in a pocket page or placed onto a card.  I decided to make one feminine and one masculine scripture card.

I have only used my Delightful Dahlia additions set once since I bought it so I had to break it out.  I just love the effect of the triple stamping.  Once I recalled how to line each layer up it turned out beautifully:)

I really enjoyed how quick and easy these were to make.  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

72 Amazing Years

Hello again!  It's been a long few months.  I think I remember how to write up a post:)

Well once more the Papertrey anniversary celebration contests get me back to card making after the busy holidays, etc.  I had to make a card for my father's birthday this weekend so I played along with the color and sketch challenge HERE.

Here's the color scheme and sketch I chose:

Since it was for my father I went light on the Scarlet Jewel and Pure Poppy, only using them on the gift.
It was fun to get crafty again!  Hopefully I'll have even more time to play along with more contests tomorrow.
