Happy Easter, Happy Spring

I'm finally using my new stamp sets Egg Hunt and Background Basics: Tin Types.  I won these stamp sets from Papertrey's anniversary celebration in February.  It took a few weeks for them to get here and then it took me a while to open them and ink them up.  They are both such great sets.  I can see using the Tin Types on so many different cards.

I thought I'd add some fun texture to the card so I cut a piece of olive felt from Hobby Lobby with my scalloped long rectangles nestabilities.  I trimmed it to fit the card base then wrapped it with some white fibers from CTMH and green fibers I picked up ages ago.  I think the rest of the card speaks for itself :)

Wedding Day

I made this card for a very special couple who are getting married today!  They are so in love and it's delightful to witness their joy.  Their wedding colors are olive and lilac so I incorporated those colors into this card.

I cut the layers using my Labels 1 Nestabilities.  On my white layer I stamped the leaf from Beautiful Blooms in Spring Moss and then shaded the edges of the leaves with my one and only Copic marker (C1 cool gray).  I love the subtle shadow effect it creates.   I stamped the verse from SU in Plum Pudding and then inked the edges with the inkpad.  Looped some satin Spring Moss ribbon underneath and added three  Moss rhinestones to finish it off.

Stamps:  Beautiful Blooms (PTI), Elegant Inspirations (SU)
Paper:  Plum Pudding, White (PTI), olive scrap
Ink:  Plum Pudding, Spring Moss (PTI)
Accessories:  satin Spring Moss ribbon (PTI), kaiser rhinestones, copic C1, pop dots, glue dots, Labels 1 Nesties

Wired

This blog hop is all about using buttons on your creations.  I created a funky birthday card using Shapes by Design, Lavender Moon buttons and wire.

I told you it was funky.  I don't love it, but it will be fun for a child's birthday.  I stamped the open circles from Shapes by Design five times across the white cs in the new Hawaiian Shores ink.  Then I stamped the three large open circles in black.  I threaded wire through my buttons so that they fit into the large black circles.

The buttons needed something else so I sparkled them up by adding glue to the rims and sprinkling with glitter. Then I decided I wanted to add more wire so I wrapped wire around a Sharpie pen then flattened it out and adhered it to the top of the image panel.

Violet Thanks

I just love the new Year of Flowers: Violets set from Papertrey.  Not much to say on this card. It's pretty straightforward.

I was inspired by this card from Debbie Olson.  I inked the blossoms in Vineyard Berry (CTMH) and the leaves in Ripe Avocado.  I colored the centers with a gold gelly roll glitter pen and adhered a few gold half pearls to the centers.

Luck of the Irish

Here's a quick card using Papertrey's new Luck of the Irish stamp set and this week's Fall-to Layout from the clean&simple blog.  I chose to use various shades of green from PTI.  The shamrocks were punched out with my 1 1/4" circle punch.  I added a little detail to the card base by scoring a few lines with my Scor-Pal.  The sentiment is embossed in white.

Compose a Card 6

Here's my card for Becky's latest Compose a Card challenge.  I didn't have any Soft Stone so I improvised with a light gray cardstock I had in my stash.  I decided to keep it very simple using In Bloom

I stamped the Enchanted Evening base with a leaf image using Versmark Dazzle frost ink.  I found this cute odd-shaped button in my Enchanted Evening button jar.  Don't you love it?  Everything else is pretty straightforward.  I'm just glad we actually had some sunshine so I could take the picture outside.

Stamps:  In Bloom (PTI)
Paper:  Enchanted Evening (PTI), light gray unknown
Ink:  Indian Corn Blue (CTMH), versamark, versamark dazzle frost
Accessories:  white EP, ribbon from Michael's, vintage button (PTI), corner rounder

Remember Revisited

I've received several comments about the stamp set called Remember since I posted the Yellow Poppies card in the post below.  Many people were not too familiar with the set.  It was designed by Lisa Johnson and released by Papertrey Ink in August 2008.  I thought I'd post a few of the cards I've created using this set.  They are all in my Splitcoast Stampers Gallery.  Click on the title links for more information.

First up:  Red Hot Poppies
Next is Black Magic Poppies.  This one uses the chalkboard technique.

Lastly, Pure Poppy, a quick CAS card using a classic color combo.

For even more inspiration visit Lisa Johnson's blog to see all her countdown posts for Remember.  You'll be blown away.

Now, if you don't already own this set head over to Papertrey Ink and put it into your shopping cart!

Happy Stamping,

Yellow Poppies

Lisa Johnson started a new challenge series on her blog.  You can find this week's challenge here.  As you can see she gave us three "seeds" to use on our cards:
  1. Crystals
  2. A flower stamp
  3. Light Yellow
This was such a fun challenge!  I used one of my very favorite stamp sets from Papertrey -- Remember.  This is a must have set.  I LOVE the poppy images Lisa included.  I also used FTL #80 from the clean & simple blog for my layout.

The solid part of the flowers are stamped with Buttercup ink (CTMH).  The outlines are stamped in Orange Zest.  I used Ripe Avocado for the stems and leaf outlines and Spring Moss for the solid leaves.  This sheet of patterned paper from Polka Dot Parade coordinated perfectly with my stamped image.  I finished it off with Orange Zest twill tape ribbon and rhinestones.
