Papertrey September 2011 Blog Hop
I'm so glad to be joining the Papertrey Blog Hop once again. I was bummed to miss it last time. This month we have a wonderful rainbow colored photo for inspiration.
I love those clean lines and the graphic pattern. Not sure I'd want my floor looking like that, but I do love the photo:) I found a striped chipboard frame in my stash, bought at the Target dollar spot a few years ago, that was perfect for my card.
You'll have to excuse the poor lighting in this picture. It's gloomy here and I couldn't get a good shot.
I used the new Bells & Boughs set to create a fun wedding card. The scored lines help frame the sentiment.
I also added two horizontal striped pattern images above and below the sentiment for visual interest. The solid blue rectangles were mistakes. I actually placed the stamp backwards on the block and didn't realize it until I stamped onto the base. Instead of throwing it out I chose to flip the stamp over (the right way) and stamp pink lines over the blue blocks.
Happy hopping!

Paper: Stampers Select White
Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Smokey Shadow, Pretty in Pink (SU!)

Onesie Trio
This is a card I created for my soon-to-be born nephew (any day now!). I have loved all the adorable cards I've seen using Papertrey's Hanging Out clothesline set and dies. I restrained myself from buying it and decide to use what I already have. Novel idea, huh?
This little onesie on a clothesline is from Studio G's $1 sets. I bought about 20 of these dollar sets years ago and never use them. I stamped the onesie three times and then colored them in. I used clouds and the sun from Up, Up and Away (PTI) for the background and the wonderful grass punch from Fiskars too.
This card is also for the Wee Memories challenge this week which is "No Patterned Paper". Since I rarely use patterned paper I could enter nearly every card I make for this challenge. LOL!!! I had to make myself quit buying pp until I use what I have.

Ink: Black, Summer Sky (memento), Sunflower, Buttercup (CTMH)

FTL 155 + cQc 100
I'm playing along with the latest challenges from Clean & Simple Stamping and Colour Q. Both challenge blogs have combined this week for one great challenge. We are to use the sketch and any past colourQ combo. I chose cQc #27. I'm also submitting this for the masculine challenge at Crazy 4 Challenges.
I needed to make a birthday card for my brother-in-law and thought this color combo looked pretty masculine. I had recently acquired some Stampin' Up cardstock from my friend Karol's stash so I actually had some of the colors.
There is no stamping on this card *gasp*. I just ran the suede piece through the cuttlebug with the Happy Birthday folder. I colored in the sentiment with a Copic marker. The balloons are a Martha Stewart punch. I highlighted the balloons and sentiment panel with a orange glitter marker.
This is not a favorite card of mine and I almost didn't post it here, but you've gotta share flops sometimes too. Or do you? Regardless, my brother-in-law will like it just as it is ... and that's what matters.
Paper: Night of Navy, Tempting Turquoise, Soft Suede (SU!), Orange Zest, white (PTI)
Other: YR12 Copic marker, Happy Birthday cb folder, balloon punch (MS) glitter pens, Enchanted Evening twine (PTI)
For Your Inspiration #13
Welcome back to another photo inspiration challenge from
We have some new things going on at FYI. First of all, we now have some great sponsors for our first challenge of each month. This week our sponsor is Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. One participant from this challenge will randomly be selected to win $10 in store credit from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps!
Okay, onto the challenge:
Look at all those beautiful colors. I couldn't resist using those on my cards. I chose the hummingbird image and a verse from the Hummingbird set. I changed the colors of the bird image using Microsoft Word to reflect the many colors in the photo.
Here's a look at each card separately. I tried a little something different with the yellow one because I didn't like the way the bird image looked in all yellow. Instead I added a yellow oval frame around the lightened image.
The purple one seemed a little dark with the black border strip so I stamped a scallop in purple and added black hand drawn lines.
The other three are the same layout.
I hope you'll join us for this challenge. You have until Wednesday, September 14th to play along.
Be sure to visit the rest of the DT to see what they made. Their links are on my sidebar.
Stamps: scallop strip on purple card -- From Me to You (CTMH)
Paper: Stampers Select white, Orange Zest, Royal Velvet (PTI), Ballet Blue, Barely Banana (SU!), turquiose (unknown)
Ink: purple (memories), everything else is computer generated
