Well it's that time again -- today begins the next For Your Inspiration challenge. Take a look at this stunning photo that Steph chose this time:
I used the latest sketch from retro sketches to create my card. I rarely join sketch challenges because I find them so difficult. I loved this sketch though, so I wanted to play along.
I didn't have any paper or ink as bright and vibrant as the purple in the photo, so I softened the colors a bit by choosing lavender and a purple scrap that I had laying around.
The black layer and the bottom of the card base were cut using Curved Rectangles from Spellbinders.
Please be sure to visit the rest of the FYI Design Team to see their gorgeous work. Their links are on my sidebar.
Blessings,
All supplies from Papertrey Ink unless stated.

Craft a Scene Challenge #4
I was so excited to discover a new challenge blog for scenic stamping called Craft a Scene. I love scenic stamping, especially when using Stampscapes stamps. I had to play along with their latest challenge -- Silhouettes.
I used several Stampscape stamps on this scene and one retired SU! stamp from Noble Deer. Everything was colored with colored pencils except the sky which was stamped with Summer Sky (memento). Here are some of the stamps I used:
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Stamps: various Stampscapes, Noble Deer (SU!)
Paper: White, Royal Velvet (PTI)
Ink: Black, Summer Sky (memento)
Other: colored pencils, black fine line pen

Navy & Silver Wedding
I made this wedding card for my husband's co-worker. Everyone at his work was chipping in for a gift, but he told them that we would contribute a handmade wedding card to go with the gift. Naturally, this bit of information came to me at the last minute so I whipped something up quickly -- a bit of stamping and embossing, finished off with some ribbon did the trick.
The gorgeous medallion-like images are from "French Quarter" by Inque Boutiue, a stamp company that is no longer in business. Does anyone remember Inque Bouttique stamps? I have several of their stamps because a few months before they went out of business I won $100 worth of their stamps. Even though they are not current I still love many of those stamps and try to remember to pull them out once in a while.
I'm entering this into the current Crazy for Challenges #131 -- to use blue and white with one other color.
Hope you all are having a wonderful week!
Stamps: French Quarter (inque boutique), Giga Guidlines (PTI)
Paper: watercolor paper
Ink: Paris Dusk (memento), versamark
Other: silver EP, silver ribbon, enchanted evening button (PTI)

For Your Inspiration #27
Welcome back to the next For Your Inspiration challenge. This week we are sponsored by the Cutting Cafe. They are offering a prize to one lucky challenge participant. Be sure to check out the FYI Blog for details. You have until April 18th to play along.
Here is the photo for the challenge:
Here's my take on it:
I borrowed this lighthouse stamp from a friend. The inks are sponged onto the glossy paper. It's so easy to color this way:)
I printed the verse from The Cutting Cafe's Rejoice in the Lord set onto vellum and then cut it out with my new Edgelits - Adorning Accents border dies from SU!
Please check out what the rest of the Design Team created from this photo. Links are on my sidebar.
Stamps: Lighthouse (inkadinkado), Rejoice in the Lord digi (the cutting cafe), Lg Reeds (stampscapes)
Paper: glossy, black, cream, vellum
Ink: black (memento), plum, bashful blue, caramel
Other: sponges, edgelits dies - adorning accents (SU), yellow marker
