I finally had time to make a card! I cannot believe I haven't stamped anything in two weeks. I knew that I wanted to participate in Ted's fun May challenge. Have you seen it? Oh my, what a creative challenge. He called it
Eat Your Heart Out!, a menu challenge. Go check it out and play along.
Here are the rules I had to follow since my birth year ends in a 2:
card base = brown
technique = paper piecing
embellishment = floss, string, thread
main image = leaves
Here's what I came up with:
I can't tell you how hard this challenge was for me. I started with another idea, using a different stamp set, and worked on it forever before giving up. In the end, I decided to keep it simple. The paper piecing was the hardest part. I couldn't get any creative juices flowing. I wanted to stick to leaves and not add any flowers, etc. so I just decided to paper piece two of the leaves that I stamped on the base. I added the button for balance. What do you think?

I think it's beautiful!! The leaves stamped in Vintage Cream on the brown card stock look FABULOUS! Love what you did with the string, and the paper pieced leaves add a nice pop of color :)
I think you made a great decision keeping it simple! Everything is nicely balanced and well designed. I always have a hard time with Ted's challenges (that's why they're called challenges, lol) and I think you did a fabulous job!
Sara, I'm loving this card! The balance is perfect and the green button --- perfect color! Great piecing... wonderful. Thanks for participating in my challenge! :)
I think this turned out gorgeous Sara! I think you struck the perfect balance with all the elements, and the paper pieced leaves give such a wonderful pop of colour!

Beautiful card!! The leaves look so bold on the dark background, and love your use of the floss.
gorgeous!
Oh so pretty Sara. I like the balance here...the pieced leaves are the perfect touch with all the open stamped ones in the BG, and the scalloped sentiment panel is sweet...did you score through it?
This is fabulous, Sara!!! I love the paper pieced leaves!!!
Sara. This is a beautiful card. I love the colors and the leaves are the perfect accent. Simple but gorgeous!
