HEC #14 - Handwritten Valentine

Last month I missed out on playing along with Ted's Happily Ever Crafter challenge.  I had a whole month to make a card and I still missed it.  This month I was determined to join the challenge.  Ted has some of the most clever challenges.

This month we are to create a Valentine's Day card.  Easy enough...BUT...a handwritten sentiment is required on the front AND the inside.  UGH!!  I never like my handwriting.  So here's my card:

After THREE attempts at writing neatly and trying to include a cute sentiment, I took the easy way out and just wrote *Love*.  One word was about all I could handle by the end:)  Seriously though, it was fun to give this a try.  Don't think I'll do it again anytime soon.

Card Details:
  • Stamped polka dots on vellum in Berry Sorbet (attached to base with scor-tape -- not visible at all)
  • Used Mat Stack 4 die cut for sentiment panel
  • Hearts are cut out and popped up for dimension
  • Decorated edges of die cut with silver paint pen

Here's the inside:

All supplies Papertrey Ink unless noted

Stamps:  Polka Dot Basics II, Blooming Button Bits, heart from Inque Boutique
Paper:  white, vellum
Ink:  Berry Sorbet, Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy
Accessories:  Copic markers: R32, R35, silver paint pen (marvy),Mat Stack 4 die, black Zig pen

Sara your handwriting is gorgeous!
I thought the front was a stamp!
So we now add handwriting to your talents as well because the card is gorgeous!

Looks like three times is a charm in your case. Lovely card. Worth all the effort. I adore the loveheart flowers too.

I love it! It's funny how we don't like our own handwriting. I look back and realize my mom definitely hated her writing. Now that she's gone, I cherish everything I have that she's written. Her writing brings back a lot of memories. Your writing is gorgeous, and it's you. It adds a great touch to the card.

Sara, this is perfect! I love the polka dots and all of the colors. Like you, I can't seem to find a sentiment stamp for everything. For some reason, I don't have anything (that I can find anyway) that just says Happy Valentine's Day. LOL!
