For the Twins

I love Papertrey's new set called Enjoy the Ride.  This car image is adorable -- love the coordinating die.  I really like the variety of sentiments for the little license plate and the beautiful larger sentiments.  Okay, enough gushing.

These cards are for my sweet niece and nephew who turn six next month.  I cannot believe that they are going to be that old already.  When they were born, their daddy had just left for a one year deployment to Afghanistan.  This year he's in Iraq.  We all wish he could be home to celebrate with them, but such is the life of a soldier.

I kept the same layout for both cards, just changing the color scheme and embellishments.  After I stamped the black nestie shape with Vintage Labels, I drew the road on by hand using a ruler and a white gelly roll pen.  I heat embossed both cars with clear EP although you can't tell from the photos.

For the boy card, I used Spring Rain cardstock and some patterned paper from the Father Knows Best line.
I also added two loopy brads with rustic jute twine tied on them.  I colored the windshield of this car and the headlights with a C1 cool gray Copic to show some shading and reflection.

For the girl card, I used a base of Lavender Moon cardstock and some patterned paper from the Guidelines line. I used purple loopy brads tied with some white CTMH fibers and pink embroidery floss.  I also had to add a few pink rhinestones to the brads and next to the sentiment.  I colored the headlights with my clearstar gelly roll pen for more sparkle.

All products from Papertrey Ink unless stated otherwise.
