Prayers & Strength

This is a card of encouragement that I made using my new (to me) Faith and Hope set from Papertrey.  Everything here is pretty straightforward.  I wanted to keep the card very simple and just showcase the ribbon.  I thought I'd try something new with my Mat Stack 3 die and turned it sideways after stamping it in Fresh Snow ink.

This is for two challenges this week:

All supplies from Papertrey Ink unless stated.

Stamps:  Faith & Hope, Mat Stack 3, Polka Dot basics II
Paper:   White, Scarlet Jewel, Pretty in Pink (SU)
Ink:   Fresh Snow, Vineyard Berry (CTHM), Pretty in Pink (SU)
Other:  Ribbon die (faith & hope), Mat Stack 3 die, 1 3/4" hole punch

16th Birthday

This is for my nephew's 16th birthday.  He's the oldest of all the nieces and nephews and I remember when he was born like it was yesterday.  There's something really special about the first child born to one of your siblings.  I still cannot believe that he's turning 16.

I used the Mat Stack 3 die and stamp set along with Make a Wish additions for my images and sentiment.  I trimmed off an edge of the Top Note die cut from Stampin' Up just for something different.  I also thought I'd add a bit of a black scalloped circle behind the Mat Stack for some visual interest.  Hope that isn't too girly for him:)

This card is also for two challenges:  Wee Memories Birthdays and Parties and Card Caravan #6 Birthdays.

Blessings,

MIM 2 -- Vellum Sentiment

This week's challenge for Make It Monday was to use a vellum sentiment strip on our card.  I love stamping and embossing on vellum so I chose to do both.

I ran a piece of vellum through my cuttlebug with the In Bloom impression plate.  LOVE that look!  I thought it would look neat through a Mat Stack 3 window.  I stamped an image from First Fruits around the window in versamark.

For the sentiment, I heat embossed a frame image from the Mat Stack 3 collection.  I then stamped the "happy birthday" sentiment from Birthday Basics in the center.  The strip is popped up on mini-pop dots.  They are tiny enough to be hidden under the embossing.
