One More Happy Background

I'm so glad that I had a bit of time today to join in on the birthday bash at 10 Minute Craft Dash.  My card was super quick to put together.  I used the "Happy" background that I created for these two cards.  I just had to create one more card before putting all those stamps back into their sets:)

I stamped the white panel a few times to create the background paper, then I taped two chevrons together that were in my scrap pile.  I die cut the birthday word from a scrap of Pure Poppy card stock and adhered it all together.

Total time:  6 minutes 28 seconds!  Does that count since I had all the scraps laying around already?  I hope so.

I'm also playing along at Seize the Birthday -- anything goes.

Blessings,

Sweet Days of Summer

Oh the sweet days of Summer!  They are a thing of the past for us starting on Monday.  I cannot believe that our summer is over and it's back to school.  The girls start high school and junior high this year.  Makes me feel really old:)  We have made the most of our summer though.  Lots of fun and relaxation!

I created this card by scribbling lightly on a piece of acetate with various Distress Markers.  I then spritzed the sheet with water and pressed my Top Note die cut onto the acetate.  Once that was dry I stamped the images and sentiment from the Flourishes "Sweet Days of Summer" set.  Quick and easy!

This is for the Addicted to CAS "Summer" challenge.

I'm also linking this up to the Smackin' Acetate challenge at Technique Time Tuesday.  The have a cool video tutorial over there on this technique.

Stamps:   Sweet Days of Summer (flourishes)
Paper:  White (PTI)
Ink:  black (memento)
Other:  distress markers, water, top note die, so saffron ribbon (SU!)

My "Happy" Background

Here are two fun birthday cards that I made using a variety of "happy" sentiment stamps.  I went through all of my clear stamps and pulled out any sentiments that were simply the word HAPPY.  I found nine different stamps and arranged them on a block.

As you can see I started by stamping the card base with white ink.  I then die cut a circle and stamped it a few times in black.  I mounted that up on pop dots and added the die cut "birthday" word using my new Birthday Trio dies from Papertrey Ink.

Here's another color combination.  For this one I colored in the drop shadow to match the birthday die cut on one of the "happy" words.  It's a subtle touch but it adds a little something to the card.

I'm entering both of these into the Moxie Fab World birthday card challenge.

I'm also submitting these into the Words, Words, Words challenge at Our Creative Corner.

Blessings,
